Ireland’s three show jumping contestants have made it through to Wednesday’s Olympic Individual show jumping final at Tokyo after today’s first qualifying competition, where all three recorded clear rounds.

Darragh Kenny and VDL Cartello finished second overall, while Bertram Allen and Pacino Amiro took sixth place. Cian O’Connor and Kilkenny placed 25th from a starting field of 73.

Great Britain’s Ben Maher was quickest through the finish with Explosion W.

The top 30 finishers today take part in tomorrow’s final, which begins at 11am Irish time, and can be seen on RTE.

Kenny, Allen and O’Connor will take part in the team qualifier on Friday, which will see the top ten of 20 teams qualify for Saturday’s team final.
