Ireland’s show jumping team for Sunday’s Sopot Nations Cup has been announced by manager Michael Blake.

The Polish clash will see Ireland drawn fourth of ten teams to jump and the riders line out as follows:

Daniel Coyle – Legacy

Alexander Butler – Athene

Eoin McMahon – Chakra 9

Paul O’Shea – Skara Glen’s Machu Picchu

Starting at 10am on Sunday (Irish time) the Longines Nations Cup of Poland will also feature teams from the USA, Poland, Norway, Morocco, Italy, Great Britain, Belgium, Germany and France.

Sopot is the second of Ireland’s allocated qualifying competitions for 2021, and Blake will be hoping to improve on an unanticipated fifth place incurred by a different Irish team in La Baule, France last week.

As a gesture of respect to the 15 year old Irish rider Tiggy Hancock, who died after a tragic training accident in Ireland this week, the Irish show jumpers will all wear armbands in Tiggy’s favourite colour, yellow.
