Cameron Hanley will line out once again for the Miami Glory team in this evening’s second round of the Global Champions League in Cannes. After a successful day yesterday with a speed class win and a third place in last night’s jump-off contest, both with Eis Isaura, the Irish rider will jump with Quirex in the team event and will be joined by USA’s Jessica Springsteen (RMF Swinny du Parc), renewing the partnership that produced two clears in Thursday’s opening round.
Prague Lions are the only other team to have had two clears, but there are six teams coming into tonight’s decider on just four faults.
Michael G. Duffy will have his second outing of the weekend for the Madrid In Motion team who carry nine faults into the contest. Duffy provided the team’s only clear on Thursday on Lapuccino 2, and tonight switches to Castlefield Rubinus. Maikel van der Vleuten, who had nine faults on Dana Blue on Thursday, will this evening bring out Idi Utopia.
The only other Irish rider in action in the team event is Darragh Kenny of Paris Panthers who will ride Babalou 41. The team are on ten faults ahead of the second round.
Bertram Allen (Gin Chin van het Lindenhof) and Denis Lynch (RMF Bella Baloubet) will jump as non-team riders in the event which is also a qualifier for the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix which will be staged after the team event has been completed.
