Ireland’s Padraig McCarthy has moved into second place in the CCI3* at Ballindenisk after a fault-free cross-country round this afternoon with just 3.2 time penalties.
The Irish rider was fifth overnight, but the eliminations of British riders Pippa Funnell and Kate Bleloch, and a 41.2 penalty round by Ireland’s Sam Watson, meant that McCarthy’s round on Bernadette Utopia slots him into second behind overnight leader Oliver Townend (Lanfranco TSF), with the British rider now holding a 10 penalty lead after a zero cross-country score.
Great Britain’s Sophie Brown (Wil) and Polly Stockton (Mister MacCondy) are in third and fourth respectively after they also came home faultless and on time.
Sweden’s Ludwig Svennerstal (Balham Mist) is just about in touch in fifth place, 15.4 penalties behind the leader.
