RTE on Friday for the second time this year will provide live television coverage of a show jumping Nations Cup held outside Ireland.
The five-star competition at Rotterdam in the Netherlands will be another points-scoring event in the 2022 Longines/FEI season, and features four of Ireland’s top riders and horses.
Starting at 5pm Irish time, and available on RTE2 and the RTE Player, Chef Michael Blake’s team will line out in the competition as:
Daniel Coyle – Legacy
Denis Lynch – Brooklyn Heights
Trevor Breen – Highland President
Shane Sweetnam – James Kann Cruz
Ireland is chasing points against teams from Belgium, France, Germany, Sweden, the United Kingdom and host country The Netherlands. Finishing fourth in Sopot, Poland, earlier this month, Blake now needs better places in the remaining Nations Cups to ensure that Ireland stays in Division One of the series.
The remaining two points-scoring events available to Ireland after Rotterdam will be Hickstead in England at the end of July, and the famous Aga Khan Trophy competition at Dublin Horse Show in August. Both of these will also be televised by RTE.
