Michael G. Duffy and Cameron Hanley are set for their first taste of Global Champions League action tomorrow as the competition commences its third round in Shanghai.

Duffy will ride for the Madrid In Motion team and will partner Lapuccino, lining out alongside Dutch team-mate Marc Houtzager and Sterrehof’s Calimero. The Madrid team will be fifteenth into action of the nineteen teams in the contest.

Earlier into proceedings will be Cameron Hanley who will ride Eis Isaura for Miami Celtics, alongside Shane Breen on Can Ya Makan. Breen’s debut in the GCL came in the last round in Miami.

After the first two rounds of this year’s league (Mexico and Miami) the table is headed by Valkenswaard United, one of whose squad members is Bertram Allen, though the Irish rider is not competing at this venue. Prague Lions hold second place ahead of Miami Celtics who won the opening round of the season when Michael Duffy and Denis Lynch represented the team.

The other teams to feature Irish riders are Shanghai Swans (Shane Sweetnam) who lie twelfth and New York Empire (Cian O’Connor) who occupy tenth place, though neither Irish rider is in action at this venue.

The first Shanghai round begins at 8am (Irish time) tomorrow with the concluding round on Saturday at 5.15am (Irish time). The Global Champions Tour Grand Prix commences at 9am (Irish time) on Saturday.
