Daniel Coyle’s climb up the world rankings continued in July with the Derry rider rising to number 38 according to FEI figures released today. It represents a move of four places for the Derry rider, whose clear round in last Friday’s nations cup at Hickstead helped boost his position.
Bertram Allen holds on to the number 17 slot and continues to be the highest ranked Irish rider, while Cian O’Connor remains in the top 30 at number 25, a drop of one place.
There is an upward move of six places for Shane Sweetman who is now in a share of 43rd, but Conor Swail and Billy Twomey have dropped out of the top 50 to 60th and 69th respectively.
Further down the rankings Mark McAuley continues the surge he has been making since being called into the senior Irish show jumping squad. The Louth rider moves up to 238th and has now climbed 310 places in the past few months.
The top two places in the rankings are unchanged from last month with Kent Farrington and McLain Ward continuing to make it an American one-two. Germany also have two riders in the top ten, with one each for France, Italy, Switzerland, Netherlands, Spain and Great Britain.
