Cian O’Connor has moved up fourteen places to number 24 in the latest Longines FEI World Rankings released today.
O’Connor had an excellent run over four weeks in June following his return from a six-week injury-enforced rest, winning the five-star Grand Prix at Sopot in Poland with Good Luck and taking second in another five-star Grand Prix in Rotterdam, also with Good Luck along with several other excellent results, including third in the five-star Grand Prix at Treffen with Skyhorse.
Bertram Allen drops one place to a share of 17th, and remains Ireland’s highest-ranked rider in the standings. Denis Lynch has slipped outside the top 30, down four places to 33, which is one notch ahead of Darragh Kenny who has moved up to 34th from last month’s 37th.
Another positive mover is Daniel Coyle, who entered the top 50 for the first time last month at 47, and had now climbed to 42nd place.
Billy Twomey, Shane Sweetnam and Conor Swail have all held onto their top 50 status, but only just, with Twomey at 47 down one place, Sweetnam unchanged at 49 and Swail dropping twenty rungs to share 50th position.
USA’s Kent Farrington holds on to first place and McLain Ward makes it an American one-two moving up from third. Lorenzo De Luca of Italy continues to climb, now occupying third spot, having been fourth last month.
