Denis Lynch, Daniel Coyle, Shane Breen and Mark McAuley were the main Irish movers in the latest Longine FEI Rankings released yesterday.

The FEI figures reflect performances up to the end of May, and so do not yet include the good results by Bertram Allen, Richard Howley and Cian O’Connor last weekend, but do include the four-star Langley meeting as it commenced on the last day of the month.

Denis Lynch returns to the top 30 at number 29, a jump of ten places, following good results in the Global Champions League with RMF Echo, while Shane Breen’s three Nations Cup clear rounds with Golden Hawk during May have seen him enter the top 100 at number 87, representing a climb of twenty-four places.

New to the top 50 is Daniel Coyle who is up eleven places to a share of 47th place after an excellent weekend at Langley where he jumped double-clear in the nations cup and finished third in the Grand Prix.

Though much further down the rankings, the move by Mark McAuley represents a significant climb, with the Louth rider jumping from 548th last month to a share of 385th in the new figures.

Bertram Allen remains Ireland’s highest-ranked rider, tied for 16th, down one place, while an upward move of one position gives Ireland a third top 30 place, Conor Swail moving up from 31st last month.

Cian O’Connor drops just one place to 38th despite being out of action for six weeks up to the end of May.

American Kent Farrington stays at number one, with Germany’s Daniel Deusser up to second, leapfrogging another American McLain Ward. Italy’s Lorenzo De Luca continues his upward surge and is now fourth in the standings, while Netherlands now has a representative in the top ten with Maikel Van Der Vleuten entering in 9th place.
