Ireland’s Paul O’Shea netted second place in last night’s three-star Grand Prix at the Winter Equestrian Festival in Wellington, Florida.
O’Shea was one of only four who advanced to the jump-off, and his second clear round earned him the runner-up position.
Riding Skara Glen’s Machu Picchu, the Irish rider was outdone on the clock by a quarter of a second by Brazil’s Pedro Muylaert on Prince Royal Z MSF.
“I could have been quicker to the second fence but other than that I think I did what I could do”, said O’Shea afterwards.
USA’s Jimmy Torano and Day Dream took third after their fastest jump-off time came at the expense of four faults.
