Florida’s famous Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF) enters its second week with a two-star ranking and an $86,000 Grand Prix on Saturday night.

The second week of WEF runs from January 18-22 and is sponsored by Marshall & Sterling Insurance.

The week’s CSI 2* rated event features the $35,000 Ruby et Violette WEF Challenge Cup Round 2 on Thursday, the $86,000 Marshall & Sterling Insurance Grand Prix CSI 2* on Saturday night, and the $25,000 Hollow Creek Farm Under 25 Grand Prix and $35,000 Suncast 1.50m Championship Jumper Classic on Sunday.

The 2017 Winter Equestrian Festival has at total of 12 weeks of competition at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Centre, concludes on April 2, and offers more than $9 million in prize money through the circuit.

Irish riders are particularly prominent at WEF, with Co. Derry’s Daniel Coyle and Cita taking first place in last week’s Grand Prix, while Co. Down’s Conor Swail came home second with Flower.
