Judy Reynolds and Joe and Kathleen Reynolds’s 14-year-old Jazz gelding Vancouver K scored a personal best of 75.66% to win the Grand Prix at the CDI-W show in Devon, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA early this morning (Saturday).
Judy broke her own Irish international Grand Prix record score of 75.24%, set in June this year, when she won the Grand Prix at Achleiten CDI4* in Austria. American rider Arlene Page and Woodstock scored 73.36% to place second in the Devon CDI-W Grand Prix with Canada’s Megan Lane and Caravella in third on 71.98%.
In August, Judy and Vancouver K were the first Irish combination in 24 years to qualify for the Olympic final in Rio de Janeiro, where they placed 18th in the final.
Last week Reynolds won both the Grand Prix and Grand Prix Kür (Freestyle to Music) at the Rolex Central Park show in New York, USA. Judy is only the second Irish rider to win two big tour classes at an FEI CDI international dressage show since Anna Merveldt (Flash Dancer) won the Grand Prix and the Grand Prix Special at Rotterdam CDIO in August 1993.
