Shane Sweetnam and Cyklon netted this morning’s Accumulator class at Dublin Horse Show when toppling long-time leader Cian O’Connor on Aramis 573.

It would have been O’Connor’s second win of the week with the horse, but Sweetnam and Cyklon have already had a second placing at the show and this time paved a way to the top with a time of 46.10.

O’Connor had taken over top spot from Jessica Springsteen and Davendy S, and saw strong challenges from Billy Twomey (Ardcolum Duke) and then Sweden’s Angelie Von Essen (Cream Sheridan) who went very close.

It was only when Sweetnam entered proceedings that the lead changed hands again, with a great round in a time that was 0.63 of a second faster.

O’Connor held onto second, with Von Essen third. Twomey, who is having quite a good week himself, took fourth, and Springsteen’s early effort was good enough for fifth in the €24,500 event.
