IRELAND’S Bertram Allen is now in fourth position in the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix rankings after a third place finish in Cascais, Portugal today (Saturday).

With 189 points on the leaderboard after the 11th leg of the championship, the 20 year-old is just 45 points adrift of the Australian leader, Edwina Tops-Alexander.

Germany’s Christian Ahlmann is second on 232 points while Sweden’s Rolf Goran-Bengtsson holds third place on 200 points.

Allen and the nine year-old grey Hector van d’Abdijhoeve finished third in this evening’s Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix at Estoril after three clear rounds.

Piergiorgio Bucci of Italy came out on top with Casallo Z in a jump-off time of 49.07, followed by Australia’s Edwina Tops-Alexander on Linea Tequila in 50.08.

Allen, the only other rider to post a third clear, then just failed to challenge the leading two for time, slotting into third in 50.14.
